Mission section

Interstice creates structured, trauma-informed programs where young people can train, reflect, build trust, and discover what they are capable of. Veterans serve as mentors and participants, bringing discipline, lived experience, and steady leadership into the room.

The first program model combines martial arts, mentorship, wellness education, creative expression, and a future meal-prep workforce pathway.

Program pillars

For youth

Interstice is built for youth who need a safe place to practice discipline without shame, strength without intimidation, and accountability without fear. The goal is not to force disclosure or toughness. The goal is trust, consistency, and confidence earned over time.

For veterans

Veterans often carry leadership, discipline, and service into civilian life without a clear place to use them. Interstice gives veterans a structured way to mentor, participate, stay connected, and help young people move toward stability.

Program status

Interstice is in early development. The first priorities are nonprofit formation, board recruitment, safety policies, mentor screening, insurance review, and a small pilot cohort.

We are looking for founding board members, donors, advisors, training partners, veteran mentors, youth referral partners, food and nutrition advisors, and community sponsors.

FAQ copy

Is Interstice operating yet?

Interstice is in the development stage. The first pilot will launch only after the core safety, governance, insurance, and partner pieces are in place.

Who can participate?

The first pilot is expected to serve a small group of youth, roughly ages 10 to 18, through partner referrals. Veteran mentor participation will require screening and onboarding.

Will there be a meal-prep business?

Meal preparation is a future pathway. It will begin as education and skill-building. Any meal distribution, sales, or paid participant work will require food safety, labor, insurance, and legal review first.

How can I help?

You can help by making an introduction, sponsoring the pilot, offering space, advising on safety or compliance, or joining the founding board conversation.
